Sarah and Jack get Married at the Kalamazoo Country Club in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Sarah + Jack got married on 2/22/20 at Saint Monica’s Church followed by a gorgeous reception at the Kalamazoo Country Club. This was my first time photographing at the Kalamazoo Country Club and I was throughly impressed. If you have been following me for any amount of time, you know that I practically worship gorgeous, natural light. The Kalamazoo Country Club + Saint Monica Church left me very satisfied!

My favorite things about Sarah and Jack’s Kalamazoo wedding:

There was outdoor space! I love how accessible outdoor space was for both the bridal party and for the guests. Sarah and Jack got married on a unusually warm, sunny winter Michigan day. I was able to take advantage of the warmth and pulled people out to take photos all throughout cocktail hour. And of course, I loved playing with that light for bridal portraits.
Proximity to downtown: the reception was just minutes to downtown Kalamazoo! Sarah and Jack hired a trolly to bring their bridal party and family around to my favorite spots in downtown Kalamazoo. I live downtown and have learned all of the best spots for light for each time of the day. I loved bringing them around for photos to each of these spots.
The service and the people at the Kalamazoo country club were exceptional! Having people around who are always willing to help for anything - from pulling out scissors to having extra snacks for the kids, makes on a big difference.
The people: as always, I feel so lucky to work with such kind, grateful clients. Sarah and Jack, their bridal party, and their entire family were yet another example of the reason I love my job so much.
