Kathryn + Tim Get Married in Rochester Hills, MI
Capturing Kathryn and Tim’s gorgeous wedding was an extra special treat for me because the three of us had all gone to college together! We all met during our freshman year at Michigan State and, even though Tim and Kathryn didn’t start dating until a few years later, Tim told me that he knew he was going to marry Kathryn from the first moment he saw her. Isn’t that the cutest thing ever?
Even though there was a 90% chance of rain forecasted for the weekend, their wedding at the Pine Terrace Golf Club in Rochester Hills, Michigan, couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun came out just long enough for me to pull the girls outside so we could squeeze in a few photos while they were getting ready. The leaves had just begun to change colors and it was the perfect backdrop for Kathryn and her bridesmaids in their beautiful taupe dresses--which was a really fun color, and not something I see that often.
At one point when Kathryn was putting on her shoes, I just stepped back and looked at her. She looked like such a princess, and I started to tear up because I just couldn’t believe how quickly life goes by. One minute, we’re moving into the our freshman dorm rooms, eating in the caf, goofing off, being crazy, going to football games, writing papers, having too much fun on St. Patrick’s Day… and the next minute, we’re all grown up and we’re getting married.
Because so many of Kathryn and Tim’s friends made it to the wedding, about 40 of us who had graduated from Michigan State all squeezed together for a group photo! The whole wedding was brimming with fun, full of lots of friends and family.
One of my favorite parts of the ceremony was the sweet officiant. He was probably in his 80’s, and just the cutest, most adorable old guy. He was so sweet and said he loves being able to meet and connect with young couples like Kathryn and Tim.
Kathryn had a special request towards the end of the service, so, as the pastor started wrapping up, I snuck around behind them just before their first kiss as a married couple. I got a picture of their first kiss with their friends and family in the background, clapping and cheering for Kathryn and Tim. Enjoy the photos!
